 FG ARRAIGNS 400 TERRORISM SUSPECTS The Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Olasunkanmi Fagbemi (SAN), has arraigned for prosecution over 400 terrorism suspects.  Judiciary Correspondent Austin Anyebe reports that the trials are taking place in different courts at the Federal High Court complex in Abuja.  A team led by the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice Lateef Fagbemi SAN supported by the Director of Public Prosecution of the Federation, Rotimi Oyedepo (SAN), is prosecuting the suspects. Similar mass trial took place in April 2026. In that trial out of 508 defendants, the AGF's office secured 386 convictions, with 8 discharges and 2 acquittals.  Many of the convicts received prison sentences of up to 20 years.  The defendants are facing charges linked to terrorism, aiding and abetting insurgent activities, and financing.  GUNMEN KILL YOUNG POS OPERATOR IN GBOKO ROBBERY ATTACK 

Residents of Gboko, Benue State, have been thrown into mourning following the killing of a young point-of-sale (POS) operator, Luther Raphael Kunde, by suspected armed robbers.


The incident reportedly occurred at Titus De Great Abagu area of Gboko South, opposite Bem House, where the victim operated his POS business. Eyewitnesses said the attackers struck suddenly while Kunde was attending to customers, shot him, and fled with an undisclosed amount of cash.


“It happened so fast. We heard a gunshot and everyone started running,” a resident said.

Kunde was said to be a 200-level student of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), combining his studies with the small business.


Community members and groups, including the AMMBAN Gboko chapter, have expressed condolences to the bereaved family.


The Benue State Police Command is yet to issue an official statement, but residents are calling for improved security in the area.
