HOODLUMS DISRUPT CHURCH SERVICE ATTENDED BY SEN. UDENDE IN BENUE - AIDE

A church service attended by the Senator representing Benue North-East Senatorial District, Sen. Emmanuel Memga Udende, was reportedly disrupted by hoodlums on Sunday in Vandeikya Local Government Area of Benue State.

The incident occurred at the House of Solution Church of All Nations (HOSCOAN) in Kpe Aya, Tsua community, Mbagbera, where the senator had joined other worshippers for a service on March 8, 2026.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Jerry Orgem Iorngaem, the senator attended the service to give thanks to God and to support the development of the church.

“I’m always available whenever I’m invited to a church service. God has done so much for me; I can’t thank Him enough. That is why I am here in Mbagbera to also support the development of the church,” Udende was quoted as saying.

During the service, the church’s General Superintendent, Pastor Peter Terhemba Kparevde, urged leaders to promote peace and inclusiveness in governance. He noted that leadership comes from God and called on those in authority to lead with the fear of God.

The statement, however, alleged that shortly after the service ended, a group of hoodlums stormed the venue, destroying canopies and plastic chairs used for the programme.

According to the aide, the individuals reportedly arrived in about five Benue Links buses and chanted political slogans as they entered the premises.

Udende had reportedly left the venue before the disruption occurred.
