Joan Collins Rejects Weight Loss Drugs as Kelly Osbourne Addresses Body-Shaming

Veteran actress Joan Collins has weighed in on the growing popularity of weight loss medications, saying she would “never dream” of using them and criticizing what she described as their “disastrous” impact on people’s appearance.

Drugs such as Ozempic and Wegovy have surged in popularity in recent years, with millions turning to them for weight management.

Collins, however, made clear she does not support the trend. In her view, individuals hoping to shed a few pounds should simply “cut down” rather than rely on injections.

Her remarks come amid renewed attention on body image, particularly following recent online backlash directed at Kelly Osbourne.

Osbourne, 41, attended the BRIT Awards over the weekend alongside her mother, Sharon Osbourne, to accept a posthumous Lifetime Achievement Award on behalf of her father, Ozzy Osbourne, who d!ed last July.

While the evening was intended to honor Ozzy’s legacy, Osbourne later revealed she had been subjected to negative comments about her appearance.

She has recently lost weight and has denied using weight loss injections, but that has not prevented speculation or criticism online.

Addressing the backlash, Osbourne said: “There is a special kind of cruelty in harming someone who is clearly going through something. Kicking me while I'm down, doubting my pain, spreading my struggles as gossip, and turning your back when I need support and love most.”

She continued, “None of it proves strength, it only reveals a profound absence of character. I'm currently going through the hardest time of my life. I should not even have to defend myself. But I won't sit here and allow myself to be dehumanised in such a way.”

Osbourne previously confronted body-shaming comments ahead of the BRIT Awards and later shared a screenshot of a particularly offensive remark referencing her late father. She condemned the message as abusive and unacceptable.
