Senator Tinubu was represented at the event held at the Velodrome Moshood Abiola National Stadium Abuja by wife of the Vice-president Her Excellency, Hajiya Nana Kashim Shettima.  Her Excellency Senator Tinubu applauded the athletes' resilience in the course of the Games.  Nigeria Commiserates With  Algeria On Passing  Of Former President   Liamine Zeroual


Federal Government has expressed its condolences to Algeria following the death of former President Liamine Zeroual.

 

In a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nigeria described the former Algerian leader, who passed away at the age of 84, as a distinguished statesman.


Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar conveyed the condolences of the Nigerian government to his Algerian counterpart, Ahmed Attaf, and to the family of the late president.


The statement highlighted President Zeroual’s leadership during a critical transitional period in Algeria’s history, noting that his legacy of peace and statecraft extends beyond his country’s borders, particularly across Africa.


Nigeria stands in solidarity with Algeria during this period of national mourning.

 Tinubu announces arrival of 4 US attack helicopters President Bola Tinubu has stated that four attack helicopters will soon arrive in the country from the United States amid rising insecurity. Speaking at a meeting with a delegation of the Christian Association of Nigeria, led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at his Lagos residence, on Friday, Dec. 26, Tinubu revealed that the Federal Government had ordered four attack helicopters from the U.S, adding that they will arrive in the country “soon”. He said: “Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive.
