 U.S equipment, experts arrive at Kenya Ebola facility despite court order, protests Around 20 flights carrying medical equipment and specialist staff have landed at a base in Kenya where the U.S. ​government is continuing to build an Ebola quarantine facility despite protests and Kenyan court orders blocking it, according to flight data and officials. At least two ‌people have been killed in protests in the central Kenyan town of Nanyuki, home to the Kenyan air force base where the U.S. military is building a 50-bed unit for Americans who might be exposed to the virus, which has infected hundreds in Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. A Kenyan court first ordered work on the Ebola facility to be suspended on May ​28, yet U.S. military flights into Nanyuki continued in the days that followed, according to data from flight-tracking service Flightradar24.  Nigeria Commiserates With  Algeria On Passing  Of Former President   Liamine Zeroual


Federal Government has expressed its condolences to Algeria following the death of former President Liamine Zeroual.

 

In a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Nigeria described the former Algerian leader, who passed away at the age of 84, as a distinguished statesman.


Foreign Affairs Minister Yusuf Tuggar conveyed the condolences of the Nigerian government to his Algerian counterpart, Ahmed Attaf, and to the family of the late president.


The statement highlighted President Zeroual’s leadership during a critical transitional period in Algeria’s history, noting that his legacy of peace and statecraft extends beyond his country’s borders, particularly across Africa.


Nigeria stands in solidarity with Algeria during this period of national mourning.
