 NDLEA dismantles Abuja drug bunks, arrests 132, recovers 220kg illicit substances  -Marwa hails operation, vows to sustain crackdown in FCT, other states  In a non-stop two-week offensive action against traffickers and dealers, operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have successfully dismantled several drug joints and bunks within and around the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja where a total of 132 suspects were arrested and 220 kilograms of assorted illicit substances recovered. The wel-coordinated raids jointly conducted by the Agency's Directorate of Operations and General Investigation (DOGI) and the FCT Strategic Command from llth to 25th April 2026 were launched to dismantle illicit drug hubs contributing to substance abuse, trafficking, and associated criminal activities in the capital city after weeks of intelligence and surveillance across all identified hotspots. Passengers Injured As Kaduna-Abuja Train Reportedly Collides With Another Train


Hundreds of passengers were stranded Monday morning after an Abuja-bound train from Kaduna reportedly collided with another train along the route, prompting an immediate suspension of services.


The accident occurred during the peak morning commute, raising concerns about safety measures and signaling systems on one of Nigeria’s busiest rail corridors.


Witnesses described the impact as a “sudden and violent jolt” that brought both trains to a halt.

"We were moving steadily when there was a loud bang and the train abruptly stopped," one passenger shared on social media. "We later realized we had collided with another train. Everyone is shaken, waiting for official updates."


Another passenger, Sada Malumfashi, said, “Just got off the Kaduna-Abuja train. There was a loud bang, and the train jolted, throwing people around. Several passengers were hit, with many bleeding and seriously injured.”
