 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  Robert De Niro bursts into tears over Trump dividing the U.S.: 'We have to save the country'


Robert De Niro recently delivered an impassioned message to Americans, urging unity and resilience in the face of political division. Speaking with Nicolle Wallace on the MS NOW podcast The Best People, the actor described former President Donald Trump as a destructive force, insisting that citizens must come together to protect the nation. 


He emphasized that differences among people are secondary compared to the larger challenge of safeguarding democracy, stressing that division cannot lead to victory.


Reflecting on his career and past moments of gratitude, De Niro grew emotional as he reiterated the importance of lifting people up rather than tearing them apart. He rejected the idea of humanizing Trump’s political era, instead framing the current situation as a matter of survival for the country. 


While acknowledging the bleakness of the moment, he also suggested that this crisis might serve as a turning point, compelling Americans to defend their values and preserve the nation’s future.


De Niro’s outspoken criticism of Trump is not new; he has long used his platform to champion progressive causes and challenge the former president’s policies. His remarks have often provoked sharp responses from Trump, who recently lashed out at De Niro and other critics on Truth Social. 


Despite the hostility, De Niro remains steadfast, portraying the struggle as a collective responsibility to ensure that the country endures and thrives beyond this turbulent period.
