  BANDITS STRIKE CHURCH IN KWARA: WORSHIPPERS ABDUCTED IN SHOCKING ATTACK Chaos erupted in Omugo community, Ifelodun LGA, Kwara State, as armed bandits stormed an ECWA Church during Sunday morning service, abducting worshippers and sending the congregation fleeing in terror. Sources report that at least seven people were kidnapped before security forces could intervene. In a swift and coordinated response, joint security operatives, including forest guards and local vigilantes, rescued three victims, though several remain in captivity. Bolanle Olukoju, Kwara State Commissioner for Communications, condemned the brazen attack, describing it as “cowardly and unacceptable,” and praised the rapid action of security agencies.  Russian drone strike kills two in Zaporizhzhia ahead of US-Ukraine talks

  

A Russian drone strike on Zaporizhzhia on Saturday morning killed a man and a woman and injured two children, Ukrainian officials said, just as a U.S.-Ukraine diplomatic engagement was expected in Miami. The drone hit a private home in the city, raising concerns about civilian safety amid ongoing tensions with Russia.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dispatched an official delegation to the United States to resume stalled U.S.-brokered talks aimed at ending Russia’s invasion. The mission seeks to restart trilateral negotiations with Moscow, which have produced little progress, and to ensure continued U.S. support for arms transfers from NATO allies. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the pause in talks is temporary, while Western officials note that Russian forces still control nearly 20% of Ukrainian territory. Meanwhile, the Iran conflict and temporary U.S. waivers on Russian oil have complicated Ukraine’s financial situation, even as it awaits a 90-billion-euro aid package from the European Union.
