Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen step out in coordinated black looks for New York stroll Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen made a rare joint appearance in New York City, stepping out together for a relaxed afternoon in matching, understated fashion. The 39-year-old twins were seen walking through Midtown Manhattan on April 30, dressed in coordinated black trench coats paired with wide-leg denim. They completed the look with sunglasses, scarves, and structured alligator handbags from their luxury label, The Row, before stopping for lunch during their outing. Long before becoming fashion insiders, the sisters built global recognition as child actors through projects like Full House, It Takes Two, and New York Minute.  Sen. John Kennedy reveals why Kristi Noem was 'dead as fried chicken' after disastrous congressional hearing

Senator John Kennedy of Louisiana said it quickly became clear to him that former DHS Secretary Kristi Noem’s tenure was over after her testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

During the hearing, Kennedy pressed Noem about a $220 million taxpayer-funded ad campaign targeting illegal immigration, which she claimed had been fully approved by President Trump. Kennedy later told Fox News that he was stunned by her remarks and suspected trouble ahead.

According to Kennedy, Trump personally called him after watching the hearing, angrily denying any involvement in the campaign.

The senator said the president insisted he had “nothing to do with this,” and Kennedy believed him.

Kennedy described Trump as “mad as a mamma wasp” and concluded that Noem’s time at DHS was “dead as fried chicken.” The exchange underscored the tension between Noem’s testimony and Trump’s public position.

By Thursday, Trump announced on Truth Social that Noem was out as DHS secretary and would be reassigned as a special envoy for “The Shield of the Americas” coalition.

He named Oklahoma Senator Markwayne Mullin as her replacement. Hours before the announcement, Trump told Reuters he had no knowledge of the ad campaign, further distancing himself from the controversy that ultimately ended Noem’s role at the department.
