 Ghana's president, in New York, says US is 'normalizing' the erasure of Black history Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama, ​speaking in New York on Tuesday, criticized the U.S. administration for what he described as normalizing the ‌erasure of Black history, warning that such policies could have ripple effects elsewhere. Since his return to power, U.S. President Donald Trump has targeted U.S. cultural and historical institutions - from museums to monuments to national parks - to remove what he calls "anti-American" ideology, Reuters reported. His declarations and executive orders ​have led to the dismantling of slavery exhibits, the restoration of Confederate statues and other moves that civil ​rights advocates say could reverse decades of social progress.  TARABA VIOLENCE ESCALATES, MILITIAS ATTACK TSE-AKUMEN, RESIDENTS DEAD


Residents of Tse-Akumen in Donga Local Government Area of Taraba State were thrown into mourning on monday evening following the killing of Mr. Peverga Abar by suspected Fulani militias. The incident has raised fresh concerns over security in the region.


Tse-Akumen has witnessed intermittent clashes between local farmers and herders in recent months, with tensions over land and grazing routes escalating.


Eyewitnesses said Mr. Abar was attacked at his home, sustaining fatal injuries. Security agencies have been alerted, though patrols in the area remain limited.


A community leader said, “We are devastated. This attack shows the urgent need for stronger security in our villages.”
