 Dolly Parton returns to public eye to celebrate opening day at Dollywood     Dolly Parton made her first public appearance in months to celebrate the opening day of Dollywood in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, on Friday. The country music icon reflected on the past year, a year after the death of her husband of nearly 60 years, Carl Dean, saying she is “doing good” and has been working to rebuild herself spiritually, emotionally, and physically after grieving and dealing with health issues that kept her from touring. Joined on stage by Dollywood president Eugene Naughton, Parton brought her trademark humor to the crowd, joking about rumors of a new husband while reaffirming her devotion to Dean. She also shared updates on her ongoing projects, including a new Broadway musical and her Dolly’s Life of Many Colors Museum in Nashville.  TRANSITION OF LEADERSHIP: MURITALA HANDS OVER TO NEW ACCOUNTANT GENERAL AT STATE TREASURY OFFICE


A smooth transition of leadership took place at the Office of the Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Abayomi Oluyomi, as the retiring Accountant-General/Permanent Secretary, State Treasury Office, Dr Abiodun Shefiu Muritala, formally handed over to the newly appointed Accountant-General/Permanent Secretary, State Treasury Office, Dr. Muyiwa John Adetola.


The brief, but significant ceremony, marked the continuity of a legacy of professionalism, accountability, and prudent financial management in the State’s Public Service. 


Dr. Muritala was commended for his dedication, integrity, and contributions to strengthening the financial architecture of the State during his tenure.


In his remarks, Dr. Adetola expressed appreciation for the solid foundation laid by his predecessor and also reaffirmed his commitment to upholding transparency, fiscal discipline, accountability and prudency in the management of the State Treasury.


The STO wishes the retiring Accountant-General success in his future endeavours and the new Accountant-General a productive and impactful tenure in his service to the State.
