42-YR-OLD MARRIED LADY RECENTLY DECLARED MISSING, FOUND WITH A MAN INSIDE ONDO HOTEL ROOM. (PHOTO).

A 42-year-old woman, Olatunde Funke, who was earlier declared missing in Ilara-Mokin, has been found in a hotel in the Ugbe-Akoko area of Ondo State, sparking reactions over the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.

The distance between Ilara mokin in Ifedore local government and Ugbe Akoko in Akoko Northeast local government Area of ondo state is about 124 kilometres, with an estimated travel time of between 2 hours and 40 minutes and 2 hours and 45 minutes under normal traffic conditions.

A source familiar with the situation told newsmen that the woman’s husband had raised the alarm after she suddenly left their matrimonial home without any prior notice, prompting immediate concern and a search effort.

“Her disappearance caused serious panic. The family and residents were worried something bad had happened,” the source said.

According to findings, security operatives later traced her to a hotel where she was discovered in the company of a 55-year-old man identified as Isa Alaba.

“She was not abducted as initially feared. She left on her own without informing anyone and was later found with the man in the hotel,” the source disclosed.

It was also gathered that the woman had since been taken into protective custody as authorities continue to investigate the full circumstances behind the incident.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer PPRO DSP Jimoh Abayomi confirmed the incident.

“This kind of situation creates avoidable alarm. Resources meant for real emergencies were deployed because people feared the worst,” the PPRO added.

The Police Spokesman also advised the residents to avoid actions that could mislead authorities or trigger unnecessary panic, especially in sensitive situations involving missing persons.

“There is a need for better communication, especially among couples. Many of these issues can be resolved through dialogue or family intervention instead of escalating into public concern,” the PPRO said.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the police comand to responding swiftly to distress calls and ensuring the safety of lives and property, while urging the public to always provide accurate and timely information when reporting incidents.
