 U.S equipment, experts arrive at Kenya Ebola facility despite court order, protests Around 20 flights carrying medical equipment and specialist staff have landed at a base in Kenya where the U.S. ​government is continuing to build an Ebola quarantine facility despite protests and Kenyan court orders blocking it, according to flight data and officials. At least two ‌people have been killed in protests in the central Kenyan town of Nanyuki, home to the Kenyan air force base where the U.S. military is building a 50-bed unit for Americans who might be exposed to the virus, which has infected hundreds in Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. A Kenyan court first ordered work on the Ebola facility to be suspended on May ​28, yet U.S. military flights into Nanyuki continued in the days that followed, according to data from flight-tracking service Flightradar24.  ALLEGED ATTACK ON BISHOP KUKAH’S RESIDENCE AND SOKOTO CATHOLIC CATHEDRAL ARE FALSE.


The attention of  8 Division Nigerian Army and Sector 2, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, has been drawn to a misleading Social Media post circulating on Facebook, which falsely reported an armed attack on the Residence of Bishop Matthew Kukah, the Bishop of the Sokoto Catholic Diocese and the Sokoto Catholic Cathedral.


A statement by the Acting Deputy Director, Army Public Relations

8 Division, Nigerian Army, Sector 2 Operation FANSAN YAMMA Olaniyi Osoba debunked these unfounded claims, saying that there was no such attack in Sokoto State.


He maintains that the safety and security of Bishop Matthew Kukah and the Sokoto Catholic Cathedral remain intact.


Bishop Kukah is currently fulfiling his Easter duties without any disruption.


The Division in collaboration with other Security Agencies remain unwavering in its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all residents in Sokoto State and our entire Area of responsibility. 


It added that bust Security measures are in place to guarantee a peaceful and secure Easter celeberation in Area of responsibility.
