 U.S equipment, experts arrive at Kenya Ebola facility despite court order, protests Around 20 flights carrying medical equipment and specialist staff have landed at a base in Kenya where the U.S. ​government is continuing to build an Ebola quarantine facility despite protests and Kenyan court orders blocking it, according to flight data and officials. At least two ‌people have been killed in protests in the central Kenyan town of Nanyuki, home to the Kenyan air force base where the U.S. military is building a 50-bed unit for Americans who might be exposed to the virus, which has infected hundreds in Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. A Kenyan court first ordered work on the Ebola facility to be suspended on May ​28, yet U.S. military flights into Nanyuki continued in the days that followed, according to data from flight-tracking service Flightradar24. The planes have brought in technical ​equipment as well as dozens of physicians, engineers, lab experts and construction work...

 APLUC Seals Residential Buildings, Shops in Odume Lay-out, Obosi

The Anambra Property and Land Use Charge (APLUC) sealed the houses and business premises that belong to defaulting Landlords in Odume Layout, Obosi in Idemili North Local Government Area in Anambra State.


The exercise was executed by APLUC Enforcement Team,  which was headed by Sir Ndu Victor in Awka.


The President General (PG)of Odume Layout who is also the Chairman of Odume Landlords Association, Mr Anthony Esimoneze in a phone conversation with information officer confirmed that last year 2025; APLUC delegates and Odume Landlords Association held series of meetings, deliberated and agreed on a specific amount each Landlord will be paying to Anambra State Government annually depending on the type of building.


According to the Chairman, the directive came from the state government and one can not fight the government. He further explained that those sealed buildings are people who refused to comply and pay the stipulated levy agreed between the state government and Odume Landlords Association.


He pinpointed that the "Enforcement Team" are after those that have not paid their APLUC levies for the year 2024/2025.


Further more, a Consultant to Odume General Mr Eloka Anyaoku also confirmed that the defaulters were duely informed and notified since last year 2025 and even this 2026. He said categorically that those property owners refused to pay to the Anambra State Government the stipulated Levy unanimously agreed between the landlords and APLUC.


In another reaction; a Landlord in the area whose building was sealed, who pleaded anonymity claimed that he was not informed. He said that he resides in another location but has a property in Odume Layout. According to his claim; "the sealing of my building was a big surprise to me, it was my tenants that gave me a distress calls that my building is under lock and key, no entrance, no exit they explained.


Well, the Secretary of Odume Landlords Association, Ms Chidinma Onyia when contacted in their office said that majority of the Landlords have complied to the state government directives and paid their annual levies to APLUC.
