 26-year-old woman who made false rape claim against ‘kind’ UK banker and tried to blackmail him for money is jailed in Hong Kong  A woman who falsely accused a banker of rape has been jailed for six years.  Isabel Anonia Barbra Eudora Rose from Hackney, East London, was convicted of blackmail and perverting the course of justice after she demanded £100,000 from the UK banker she accused of rape.  The 26-year-old was sentenced at the District Court in Hong Kong on Wednesday, July 22, with Judge Adriana Noelle Tse Ching finding her guilty of blackmail and perverting the course of public justice.  ARMY REAFFIRMS RESCUE OF 31 ABDUCTED WORSHIPPERS, DISMISSES FALSE CLAIMS

                                                              The Nigerian Army has reacted to claims disputing its earlier report on the rescue of abducted worshippers during the recent attack on the Ariko community. 


Reacting to a statement credited to one Dr. JD Ariko, which challenges the account of the rescue operation, the Army said it understands the concerns of affected families, noting that such reactions are expected given the traumatic nature of the incident. 


It maintained that troops acted swiftly upon receiving distress calls, disrupted the attackers pursued the fleeing terrorists, forcing them to abandon some of their captives, thereby averting what could have been a larger abduction.


The Army Headquarters confirms that 31 victims were rescued during the operation, while efforts are continuing to track down and recover others taken into the forest.
