 U.S equipment, experts arrive at Kenya Ebola facility despite court order, protests Around 20 flights carrying medical equipment and specialist staff have landed at a base in Kenya where the U.S. ​government is continuing to build an Ebola quarantine facility despite protests and Kenyan court orders blocking it, according to flight data and officials. At least two ‌people have been killed in protests in the central Kenyan town of Nanyuki, home to the Kenyan air force base where the U.S. military is building a 50-bed unit for Americans who might be exposed to the virus, which has infected hundreds in Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. A Kenyan court first ordered work on the Ebola facility to be suspended on May ​28, yet U.S. military flights into Nanyuki continued in the days that followed, according to data from flight-tracking service Flightradar24.  FG declares public holidays for Easter celebration


The Federal Government has declared Friday, 3rd, and Monday, 6th April 2026, as public holidays to mark this year’s Easter celebration.


Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, who made the declaration on behalf of the Federal Government, congratulated all Christians in Nigeria and in the diaspora on the joyous occasion of Easter.


In a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Magdalene Ajani, on Wednesday in Abuja, the Minister urged Nigerians to imbibe the virtues of selflessness, forgiveness, forbearance, and love as exemplified by the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.


He called on Nigerians to remain committed to the values of tolerance and community that keep us together as a nation.


The Minister reiterated that the goal of the government remains to make decisions that would bring about national rebirth, economic growth, and shared prosperity.


“He wished all Christians a peaceful and joyous Easter celebration,” the statement added.
