Former Governor of Kaduna State, Mukhtar Ramalan Yero, has formally announced his intention to contest for the Senate seat representing Kaduna North Senatorial District.
In a statement released on Saturday, Yero said his decision followed “overwhelming calls, encouragement, and expressions of confidence” from constituents across the district.
He described the move as a response to a collective demand for leadership and pledged to serve with humility and dedication if elected.
The former governor also revealed that he recently received a delegation of local government chairmen from the senatorial district, who paid him a solidarity visit and unanimously endorsed his candidacy.
He characterized the endorsement as a strong sign of unity and trust, noting that he considers it a significant responsibility.
Yero expressed gratitude to the people of Kaduna North for their support and urged stakeholders, political actors, and residents to remain peaceful and united as the political process unfolds.
He emphasized the importance of collective effort in achieving development and inclusiveness across the district.
He also commended the current Governor of Kaduna State, Uba Sani, for his leadership and commitment to the progress of the state.
Highlighting the importance of leadership as a trust, Yero called for prayers and support, stressing that his ambition is driven by a desire to promote justice, fairness, and community development.
