 Lagos hotel, 3 other properties forfeited by drug kingpins auctioned at N6.1billion *- It’s a clear message that cartels won’t be allowed to enjoy proceeds of their criminal trade, says Marwa*  A Lagos hotel and three other properties seized from drug kingpins by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) and forfeited to the Federal Government through court processes have been auctioned for the sum of Six Billion One Hundred and Forty- Eight Million Nine Hundred and Sixty-Four Thousand Naira (N6,148,964,000.00) only. This was the outcome of a competitive bid process for the sale of eight assets forfeited by drug barons in parts of the country. While bidders who offered above reserved prices emerged winners of four of the listed properties, bids for four others failed because none offered up to the reserved prices. Former student opens fire at Turkish high school, wounds 16 before killing himself


A former student opened fire at a vocational high school in southeastern Turkey on Tuesday, injuring at least 16 people before taking his own life, according to officials.

The 18-year-old attacker used a shotgun to fire randomly inside the school in Siverek in Sanliurfa province before briefly taking cover inside the building. Authorities said he later died by suicide using the same weapon after being cornered by police.

Officials said those injured included 10 students, four teachers, a cafeteria worker, and a police officer. Several victims were treated locally, while five students and teachers with more serious injuries were transferred to a hospital in the provincial capital.

The motive for the attack is still unknown, and such incidents are considered rare in Turkey. Authorities said all students were evacuated from the school as police units responded and worked to secure the building.

Video from the scene showed students running out of the school and gathering outside as emergency responders arrived. A full investigation into the shooting is underway.
