GOVERNOR ALIA ORDERS SECURITY AGENTS TO DISLODGE ARMED TERRORISTS CAMPS IN BENUE

The Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has directed security agencies to immediately begin coordinated operations to dislodge armed  terrorist camps in forests across parts of the state.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Tersoo Kula, says the directive follows renewed violent attacks on communities in Apa and Otukpo local government areas, which have left many people dead.

Governor Alia described the attacks on Edikwu-Ankpali, Ikobi, Adija, and Upu communities as brutal and unacceptable, noting that the perpetrators have continued to exploit forested areas as operational bases.

He stressed that the government will not tolerate further bloodshed, adding that security forces have been mandated to flush out the criminal elements without delay.

The governor reaffirmed that the protection of lives and property remains the primary responsibility of his administration, assuring residents of a sustained, intelligence-driven crackdown to restore peace and confidence in affected areas.

He also noted that the state government is working closely with federal security agencies and will continue efforts until lasting peace is achieved.

Governor Alia urged residents to remain vigilant and support security agencies with credible information to aid ongoing operations.

He commiserated with families who lost loved ones in the attacks and reiterated his administration’s resolve to confront criminality and ensure the safety of all citizens in the state.
