PDP Remains Strong Ahead Of 2027 Elections — Kaduna stakeholders

Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Southern Kaduna have reaffirmed that the party remains a strong and viable platform for the 2027 general elections.

This position was made known during an expanded caucus meeting of the Kaduna South senatorial district held in Kafanchan.

Speaking at the gathering, the party’s zonal chairman, Akusor Danjuma, assured members, supporters, and aspirants that the PDP is united and preparing actively for the upcoming elections.

He emphasized that the party would be fully represented on the ballot in 2027.

Danjuma encouraged aspirants under the PDP to stay committed, noting that the party is committed to ensuring a fair and transparent process for all candidates.

He added that while direct primaries may be adopted, discussions are ongoing among aspirants to reach consensus on various positions across local governments.

According to him, there is no need for concern over the party’s internal processes, as members continue to engage and consult to maintain unity.

Also speaking, former Kaduna PDP chairman Felix Hyet described the party as a cornerstone of Nigeria’s democratic development, pointing out that many members of other political parties originally emerged from the PDP.

He expressed optimism that the party’s internal disputes would soon be resolved.

Former Deputy Governor Nuhu Bajoga highlighted the party’s strong grassroots support in Southern Kaduna, describing the region as a traditional stronghold of the PDP.

Similarly, parliamentary aspirant Danjuma Sarki dismissed fears over defections and alleged intimidation, insisting that such challenges would not affect the party’s chances in 2027.

Other stakeholders at the meeting criticized the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), blaming it for the current economic challenges in both Kaduna State and the country.

They argued that Nigerians are increasingly seeking a credible alternative capable of delivering effective governance and improved living conditions.

The stakeholders expressed confidence that the PDP would regain power in the 2027 elections by offering better leadership.
