 Peter Obi lies like fish drinking water –Festus Keyamo Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo, has accused the 2027 Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate, Peter Obi, of deliberately fabricating claims regarding a recent airport incident. Speaking during an interview on Channels Television’s ‘Politics Today’ on Thursday night, July 30, Keyamo alleged that Obi lied about his experience at the airport to score political points. “That man was lying. He lies like a fish drinking water. He lies. He lies for fun,” Keyamo stated. The Minister noted that Obi had publicly complained of facing harassment from airport officials strictly due to his opposition status.  PRESIDENT OF THE SENATE AKPABIO CALLS FOR PEACE AT INTER- PARLIAMENTARY UNION ASSEMBLY


President of the Senate Godswill Akpabio  at the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, called on parliaments across the world to step up as defenders of peace, justice, and humanity.


Speaking under the Assembly’s theme: Nurturing Hope, Securing Peace and Ensuring Justice for Future Generations, Akpabio warned that no region is immune to conflict, citing wars across the Middle East, Europe, and Africa.


Drawing from Nigeria’s own struggles, he said peace is not inherited; it is built, defended, and sustained.


Akpabio challenged the IPU to strengthen global institutions like the United Nations and give vulnerable nations a stronger voice.

    

IPU President Tulia Ackson echoed the call, urging parliaments to provide moral clarity and decisive action against conflict and inequality.
