 Catholic priest reportedly klled in Kogi  A Catholic priest, Rev. Fr. Samuel Opeyemi Oyetoro, has been reportedly killed by unknown assailants in Ajaokuta, Kogi State. According to reports, the priest was stabbed multiple times along Ajaokuta road on Wednesday, 29th July 2026. His body was found dumped at the roadside.  Rev. Fr. Oyetoro was born in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area of Kogi State and a native of Ayetoro in Ijumu Local Government Area.  Until his death, he served as a priest at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Egbe. PRESIDENT TINUBU FELICITATES WITH EX-ABIA GOVERNOR, ORJI UZOR KALU ON HIS BIRTHDAY


President Bola Tinubu has congratulated his friend and political ally, Dr Orji Uzor Kalu, former Abia State governor and Senator representing Abia North in the National Assembly, on his birthday.
In a statement by Bayo Onanuga
Special Adviser to the President,
Information & Strategy, "The President notes the Senator's immense contributions to national development and commitment to the development of Abia State, which he served as governor from 1999 to 2007."

It adds, in the Senate, Orji Kalu had previously served as Chief Whip and now chairs the Senate Committee on Southeast Development Commission (SEDC).

SEDC is one of the regional development commissions established by President Tinubu to accelerate the growth and development of the regions.

President Tinubu commends Senator Orji Uzor Kalu's vision, resilience, industry and service to the nation and commitment to the progress of Abia as noteworthy.

"As a media mogul and Chairman of SLOK Holding, the former Abia governor is also playing his part in the economic development of the country.

The President wished Kalu long life, greater strength and increased wisdom as he continues his service to the nation. It concludes.
