 U.S equipment, experts arrive at Kenya Ebola facility despite court order, protests Around 20 flights carrying medical equipment and specialist staff have landed at a base in Kenya where the U.S. ​government is continuing to build an Ebola quarantine facility despite protests and Kenyan court orders blocking it, according to flight data and officials. At least two ‌people have been killed in protests in the central Kenyan town of Nanyuki, home to the Kenyan air force base where the U.S. military is building a 50-bed unit for Americans who might be exposed to the virus, which has infected hundreds in Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. A Kenyan court first ordered work on the Ebola facility to be suspended on May ​28, yet U.S. military flights into Nanyuki continued in the days that followed, according to data from flight-tracking service Flightradar24. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated his Special Adviser on Job Creation and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises,  Temitola Adekunle-Johnson, on the occasion of his birthday,


In a statement  by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu commended Adekunle-Johnson for his dedication, professionalism, and commitment to advancing the administration’s vision of empowering Nigerians through sustainable job creation and the growth of MSMEs, which remain the backbone of the nation’s economy.


IT noted that Adekunle-Johnson’s remarkable leadership and innovation in driving policies and programmes that support entrepreneurship, stimulate economic opportunities, and uplift small businesses across the country.


President Bola Ahmed Tinubu expressed confidence in Adekunle-Johnson’s continued contributions towards fostering inclusive economic growth and expanding opportunities for Nigerians, particularly the youth and emerging entrepreneurs.


Noting that Working in partnership with key stakeholders in the public and private sectors, Adekunle-Johnson has led the Expanded National MSME Clinics to several states of the federation. He has also facilitated the establishment of 18 Shared Hubs in different parts of the country, with more at various stages of completion, creating about 478,000 jobs while promoting enterprise sustainability across Nigerian small businesses.


It added that one of the leading initiatives managed by Adekunle-Johnson, the government has entrenched excellence, innovation and hard work in the small business space in Nigeria by rewarding outstanding MSMEs at the annual event, showcasing the possibilities of growth within Nigeria’s small business market.


The President reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to strengthening the MSME sector as a key driver of inclusive economic growth.
