Terrifying new dashcam footage shows moment doomed NBC helicopter falls out of the sky The terrifying moment an NBC helicopter fell out of the sky and plunged into the ground near where an SUV had slammed into a Metro bus was caught on dashcam. The video, obtained by KTLA, shows the helicopter descending, caught from afar on the vehicle camera of Yera Valencia. She said: “I downloaded the video of my dashcam. It’s a little dot on the video. It’s a crisp video and it just goes down.” She added: “God, it’s so close, it could have happened to anyone. My parents walk down the street.” The two back-to-back Tuesday night crashes resulted in five deaths — two involving the bus and SUV, and three as a result of the chopper going down, killing reporter Eliana Moreno, pilot George Marciniw and pedestrian Edy Gutierrez Mejia.

Prince remembered 10 years after death as Paisley Park marks anniversary of music icon’s passing


It has been 10 years since the death of music icon Prince, who was found unresponsive at his Paisley Park estate in Minnesota at the age of 57.

Born Prince Rogers Nelson, the Grammy-winning artist rose to global fame with landmark hits including “When Doves Cry,” “1999” and “Purple Rain,” becoming one of the most influential performers of his generation. He was discovered on April 21, 2016, at his home and studio in Chanhassen, Minnesota, where emergency responders were unable to revive him. A later autopsy determined he died from a fentanyl overdose.

News of his death prompted worldwide mourning, with tributes pouring in from fans, fellow musicians, and public figures, including then-President Barack Obama. Obama described Prince as a rare talent whose influence reshaped popular music and whose artistry defied convention, praising his creativity and cultural impact.

Over his career, Prince sold more than 100 million records, earned seven Grammy Awards, and won an Academy Award in 1985 for his work on the film “Purple Rain,” in which he also starred. In 2004, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, recognized for his innovation, artistry, and lasting influence on music and culture.

One of his most widely celebrated performances came during the 2007 Super Bowl halftime show in Miami, where he performed in heavy rain. Playing multiple electric guitars and delivering a set that included both his own hits and covers of iconic rock songs, the performance is still regarded as one of the most memorable in Super Bowl history.

A decade after his passing, Prince’s music continues to resonate with new audiences. His signature song “Purple Rain” reentered the Billboard Hot 100 years later after being featured in a popular television series finale, introducing his work to a younger generation of listeners.

Commemorations of his legacy are also planned at Paisley Park, which now operates as a museum, recording space, and performance venue. A multi-day tribute event is scheduled to mark the 10-year anniversary of his death, featuring concerts, discussions, and special programming celebrating his influence.

Even years after his passing, Prince’s artistry and cultural impact remain deeply embedded in music history, with his legacy continuing to shape artists and audiences around the world.
