There’s Not Much Leg Room - Prince William Jokes About His Height Inside Race Car
Prince William brought a light touch of humour to his latest public engagement, joking about his height while touring a British motorsport facility.
The Prince of Wales, 43, visited Jaguar TCS Racing headquarters on April 23, where he focused on the team’s work in electrification, innovation, and sustainable racing technology.
The solo visit included meetings with drivers Mitch Evans and António Félix da Costa, along with a closer look at the engineering behind the Formula E I-TYPE 7 car.
One of the standout moments came when he climbed into a race car during the tour. With his 6 foot 3 inch frame, he quickly noticed the tight fit and quipped, “There’s not a lot of room in the legs, is there?” a remark that drew laughter during the visit.
The joke added a lighter note to a day centred on high level engineering discussions and future racing technology development.
William’s height has become a familiar talking point in recent weeks, especially after a public appearance with his family during the Easter Sunday service at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle earlier this month.
That outing marked the first time in months that he and Catherine, Princess of Wales, appeared in public with their children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
Attention quickly turned to 12 year old George, who appeared noticeably tall for his age and was seen nearly matching his mother’s height, despite her wearing heels. Catherine stands at around 5 feet 9 inches.
The royal family’s Easter appearance also marked a rare public moment for the children, who had not been seen at an official engagement since Christmas.
William’s visit to Jaguar coincided with a personal family milestone as well. The same day, the family marked Prince Louis’ 8th birthday.
