 Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. The Russian Defence Ministry had claimed on Tuesday that units of its African Corps prevented an attempted coup on April 25, 2026 in Mali. TODAY, THE HOME BOY RETURNED TO BASE- IGP. (PHOTO).

 Today, the home boy returned to base.


Inspector General of Police, IGP Olatunji Disu returned to the warm embrace of his jubilant squad, The Good Guys.


Accompanied by AIG Zone 2, AIG Oloundare Moshood Jimoh and CP Tijani Fatai, IGP Disu thanked men of the squad for the good work they are doing for the Force.


He urged them to do good for the people minding that the force is paid by the public taxes.


Receiving IGP Disu, Commander Rapid Response Squad (RRS), CSP Shola Jejeloye, thanked the IGP for bequeathing  good legacies in the squad and for being a huge asset to RRS and the Nigerian Police Force (NPF).
