Russian forces to stay in Mali to fight terrorism: Kremlin The Kremlin said on Thursday that Russian forces would stay in Mali to help the country's government battle terrorists following an offensive over the weekend by Tuareg-led separatists and terrorists. Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov made the statement after being asked by a reporter how Russia responded to a purported statement from the terrorists saying they wanted Russia to leave Mali. "Russia's presence there is, in fact, due to the need identified by the current government. Russia will continue, including in Mali, to combat extremism, terrorism and other harmful phenomena and will continue to provide assistance to the current government," said Peskov, AFP reported. The Russian Defence Ministry had claimed on Tuesday that units of its African Corps prevented an attempted coup on April 25, 2026 in Mali. VICTORIA BECKHAM HAS FINALLY ADDRESSED THE GROWING DISTANCE BETWEEN HER FAMILY AND HER ELDEST SON, BROOKLYN BECKHAM, SAYING THAT DESPITE THE TENSION, HER FOCUS HAS ALWAYS BEEN ON LOVE AND PROTECTION.(PHOTO).

Victoria Beckham has finally addressed the growing distance between her family and her eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, saying that despite the tension, her focus has always been on love and protection.

In a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, the fashion entrepreneur and former Spice Girl spoke carefully about the ongoing family strain. While she did not mention Brooklyn by name, her words clearly reflected the emotional weight of the situation.

“I think that we’ve always, we love our children so much,” she said. “We’ve always tried to be the best parents that we can be.”

Victoria added that life in the spotlight has shaped much of their family journey, but insisted that her and David Beckham’s priority has remained the same through the years.

“For more than 30 years now, all we’ve ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children,” she said, before making it clear that she did not want to go further on the issue.

“That’s all I really want to say about it.”

Her remarks come months after reports of a deepening rift with Brooklyn, who is said to have cut communication with his family earlier this year. According to previous reports, the 27-year-old made his position known in a strongly worded social media statement in January, saying he had no intention of reconciling and accusing his parents of being overly controlling for much of his life.

The strain within the Beckham family reportedly intensified after Brooklyn and his wife, Nicola Peltz, were absent from David Beckham’s 50th birthday celebration last May, a move that drew public attention.

Since then, the distance appears to have widened. Reports claim Brooklyn and Nicola later asked that all communication with David and Victoria be handled through legal representatives.

Victoria also reflected on what it has meant to raise a family under intense public scrutiny. She admitted that fame did not only affect her immediate household, but also extended to the wider family.

“I wouldn’t say it comes with guilt,” she explained. “But there was a lot of adjusting from my mum and dad when all of a sudden there were paparazzi outside their house.”

She added that their loved ones have, in many ways, been carried along on the same public journey.

“We’ve really taken our families on this ride with us.”

Speaking more broadly about motherhood, Victoria noted that parenting adult children comes with a very different set of challenges than raising young kids.

“Being a parent of young adult children and adult children, gosh, it’s very different from having little children,” she said. “I think that we’re trying to do the best we can.”

Despite the personal headlines surrounding the family, Victoria said the recent attention has not affected her business ventures, particularly her beauty and fashion brands.

“I think ultimately people are buying my product because the product is really good,” she said. “I don’t think they’re buying my eyeliner just because it’s me.”

The family drama has remained in the spotlight, especially after Brooklyn recently shared a heartfelt anniversary message to Nicola, describing how much they have endured together.

“We have been through so much together but today we are stronger than ever,” he wrote, calling her his best friend and expressing excitement about growing old together.
