 U.S equipment, experts arrive at Kenya Ebola facility despite court order, protests Around 20 flights carrying medical equipment and specialist staff have landed at a base in Kenya where the U.S. ​government is continuing to build an Ebola quarantine facility despite protests and Kenyan court orders blocking it, according to flight data and officials. At least two ‌people have been killed in protests in the central Kenyan town of Nanyuki, home to the Kenyan air force base where the U.S. military is building a 50-bed unit for Americans who might be exposed to the virus, which has infected hundreds in Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. A Kenyan court first ordered work on the Ebola facility to be suspended on May ​28, yet U.S. military flights into Nanyuki continued in the days that followed, according to data from flight-tracking service Flightradar24. AN ILLINOIS MAN IS FACING FIRST-DEGREE MURDER CHARGES AFTER A 16-YEAR-OLD BOY WAS SHOT AND KILLED.(PHOTO).

An Illinois man is facing first-degree murder charges after a 16-year-old boy was shot and killed.


According to official reports, deputies with the Saline County Sheriff's Office were initially called to an alleged burglary in progress on the evening of May 20th. However, more information would come to light resulting in the shooter receiving three first-degree m*rder charges. Not all of that information can be shared publicly yet. A person can face more than one first degree charge due to a few reasons. 


"When a person is charged with multiple counts for the death of a single victim, prosecutors are using a legal strategy to pursue multiple theories of how the crime was committed, such as premeditated murder, intentional murder, and felony murder. It can also be reflective of how many times the victim was shot." 


When deputies responded to the home on Chapel Road in Raleigh, Illinois they discovered an unarmed 16-year-old, Nathaniel Potts, suffering from at least one serious gunshot wound.


Saline County Sheriff's Office ultimately requested the Illinois State Police Division of Criminal Investigation to take over the case. 


Nathaniel had reportedly spent the night at the home before and was known to be a guest there with his mother. 


The individual who shot Nathaniel, did not reside in the home. It is reported that he believed a burglary was taking place as the 16-year-old did not reside there and the homeowner was not present at the time. Authorities have not confirmed or denied if Potts had burglarized the home.


After their detailed investigation, Illinois State Police agents turned the case over to the Illinois State's Attorney's Appellate Prosecutors Office, who in turn quickly approved three counts of first-degree m*rder for Maloney. 


Individuals in the community that knew Nathaniel personally stated that he was never violent, and in fact, the opposite. They are awaiting more information about the surveillance video that may exist so the public can know more about why Nathaniel was at the residence. 


Those close to Nathaniel are hopeful that the truth will come out, no matter what that looks like. A family member came forward and stated, "The charges speak volumes and that is all we can say at this time." 


On May 22nd, 41-year-old Justin Maloney, was taken into custody on three counts of first-degree m*rder. 


Justin Maloney is currently being held in Saline County Jail. Maloney is considered innocent until and unless he is found guilty in a court of law.
