 U.S equipment, experts arrive at Kenya Ebola facility despite court order, protests Around 20 flights carrying medical equipment and specialist staff have landed at a base in Kenya where the U.S. ​government is continuing to build an Ebola quarantine facility despite protests and Kenyan court orders blocking it, according to flight data and officials. At least two ‌people have been killed in protests in the central Kenyan town of Nanyuki, home to the Kenyan air force base where the U.S. military is building a 50-bed unit for Americans who might be exposed to the virus, which has infected hundreds in Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. A Kenyan court first ordered work on the Ebola facility to be suspended on May ​28, yet U.S. military flights into Nanyuki continued in the days that followed, according to data from flight-tracking service Flightradar24. BAUCHI POLICE COMMAND DISMANTLES ARMED ROBBERY SYNDICATE, APPREHENDS SEVEN SUSPECTS INCLUDING TWIN BROTHERS


The Bauchi State Police Command has recorded another operational success with the dismantling of an armed robbery syndicate specializing in mobile phone snatching.


Acting on a distress call received at ‘C’ Division, Tafawa Balewa Estate, at about 1525 hours on 23rd May 2026, police operatives responded swiftly to a report of an ongoing robbery along Adamu Ajiya Street, by Ran Road, Bauchi. The prompt intervention led to the arrest of seven suspects linked to the criminal network.


During the operation, one machete and one knife were recovered from the suspects. So far, two victims have been identified and their statements obtained to aid investigation.


The arrested suspects are:  

1. Uzairu Adamu alias ‘Goje’, 20 years old  

2. Mohd Dahiru alias ‘Kansila’, 28 years old  

3. Abubakar Usman alias ‘Polio’, 21 years old  

4. Buhari Suleman alias ‘Sino’, 20 years old  

5. Isa Muhd alias ‘Rio’, 20 years old  

6. Hassan Yusuf, 20 years old  

7. Hussaini Yusuf, 20 years old  


Following preliminary investigation, efforts are ongoing to apprehend other members of the syndicate still at large. The case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID, for discreet and thorough follow-up.


The Commissioner of Police, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, mni, psc (+), commended the operatives for their swift and professional response. He further urged members of the public to continue providing timely and credible information to support the Command’s drive to rid the state of violent crime.
