U.S announces visa curbs for some foreign nationals in South Africa Secretary of State Marco Rubio ‌said on Tuesday the U.S. government was announcing a new visa restriction policy targeting some foreign nationals in South Africa. The policy targets "foreign nationals who are responsible for, or complicit in, the enactment or implementation of laws or policies that enable uncompensated land seizures, race-based discrimination, and/or the incitement of imminent violence against members of minority ethnic or racial ‌groups in South Africa," Rubio said in a statement. "The South African government has not adequately addressed the previously laid out concerns," Rubio said, Reuters reported.  Betty Broderick Dies in Prison While Serving Life Sentence

Betty Broderick has died while serving a life sentence in California prison. She was 78 years old.

According to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation, Broderick passed away early Friday morning at an outside medical facility where she had recently been transferred for additional care.

Officials said a doctor initially determined the cause of d3ath to be natural, although the San Bernardino County Coroner is expected to make the final ruling later.

Broderick had been incarcerated for decades following the 1989 sh00ting d3aths of her ex-husband, Dan Broderick, and his wife, Linda Kolkena.

The case became one of the most heavily discussed crime stories in America at the time, drawing intense public attention because of the bitter divorce, family conflict and emotional fallout surrounding it.

Betty and Dan married in 1969 and had four children together. Years later, tensions grew after Dan became involved with Kolkena, who had worked as his legal assistant. Their marriage eventually collapsed, leading to a lengthy and highly emotional divorce battle involving finances, custody disputes and court fights.

Dan later married Kolkena in 1989.

Months after their wedding, Betty entered the couple’s home and fatally sh0t them while they were in bed.

Her first trial ended without a verdict, but she was later convicted on two counts of second-degree murd3r in 1991. She received consecutive prison terms amounting to life with the possibility of parole, along with additional time linked to firearm use.

Over the years, Broderick repeatedly sought parole but was denied each time.

During a previous hearing, prosecutors argued she had shown little remorse for the crimes. Broderick, however, maintained that she had long been a victim of emotional abuse and coercive control during her marriage.

In a letter written years into her sentence, she claimed she should have been released earlier and described herself as someone who had been pushed beyond her limits emotionally.

Before her passing, she had been scheduled for another parole hearing in 2032.
