 U.S equipment, experts arrive at Kenya Ebola facility despite court order, protests Around 20 flights carrying medical equipment and specialist staff have landed at a base in Kenya where the U.S. ​government is continuing to build an Ebola quarantine facility despite protests and Kenyan court orders blocking it, according to flight data and officials. At least two ‌people have been killed in protests in the central Kenyan town of Nanyuki, home to the Kenyan air force base where the U.S. military is building a 50-bed unit for Americans who might be exposed to the virus, which has infected hundreds in Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. A Kenyan court first ordered work on the Ebola facility to be suspended on May ​28, yet U.S. military flights into Nanyuki continued in the days that followed, according to data from flight-tracking service Flightradar24. The planes have brought in technical ​equipment as well as dozens of physicians, engineers, lab experts and construction work...

CP SANI-OMOLORI PAYS CONDOLENCE VISIT TO FAMILY OF LATE PERMANENT SECRETARY, SHEHU YAHAYA JALAM


The Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, CP Sani-OmoloriAliyu, mni, psc(+), on behalf of all officers of the Command, has paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Shehu Yahaya Jalam, Permanent Secretary, Special Services, Office of the Secretary to the State Government, Bauchi State.


The late Jalam passed away on Saturday, 17th May 2026, in Mecca, Saudi Arabia, after a brief illness while participating in the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage. 


During the visit, CP Sani-Omolori described the deceased as a dedicated public servant whose loyalty and commitment to Bauchi State were evident in his years of service, particularly in coordinating Hajj operations and other key government assignments. He noted that the loss is not only to the Jalam family but to the entire government and people of Bauchi State.


The Commissioner prayed for the peaceful repose of the soul of the departed and asked Almighty Allah to grant the family, the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, the Office of the Head of Service, and the Misau and Dambam Emirate Councils the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss. 


CP Sani-Omolori also conveyed the solidarity of the Nigeria Police Force with the bereaved family during this period of grief.


Family members expressed appreciation for the Commissioner’s visit and described it as a source of comfort and encouragement.


The Command joins the government and people of Bauchi State in mourning this great loss and stands with the family in prayer and solidarity.
