Pop star Dua Lipa has filed a lawsuit against Samsung, accusing the electronics company of using her image on television packaging without permission or compensation and misleading consumers into believing she endorsed the product.
The complaint centers on Samsung allegedly placing a photograph of Lipa’s face on the TV box packaging released last year. According to the filing, the singer learned about the use of her likeness around June 2025 and repeatedly requested that the company stop using the image. The lawsuit claims Samsung did not comply and responded in a “dismissive and callous” manner, while the products continued to be sold.
Lipa’s legal team argues the company benefited commercially from the image, pointing to consumer reactions online suggesting the packaging influenced purchasing decisions. The filing also alleges copyright and trademark infringement, stating that Lipa owns the rights to the photograph, which was taken backstage at the Austin City Limits Festival in 2024.
The lawsuit contends that Samsung’s actions damaged Lipa’s brand by taking control of her likeness without authorization, depriving her of the ability to manage or profit from it.
Samsung has not yet publicly responded to the allegations.
