 U.S equipment, experts arrive at Kenya Ebola facility despite court order, protests Around 20 flights carrying medical equipment and specialist staff have landed at a base in Kenya where the U.S. ​government is continuing to build an Ebola quarantine facility despite protests and Kenyan court orders blocking it, according to flight data and officials. At least two ‌people have been killed in protests in the central Kenyan town of Nanyuki, home to the Kenyan air force base where the U.S. military is building a 50-bed unit for Americans who might be exposed to the virus, which has infected hundreds in Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. A Kenyan court first ordered work on the Ebola facility to be suspended on May ​28, yet U.S. military flights into Nanyuki continued in the days that followed, according to data from flight-tracking service Flightradar24. FRSC DEPLOYS 30, 000 PERSONNEL FOR EID EL-KABIR

The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC, says it has deployed 30, 000 personnel nationwide ahead of the 2026 Eid El-Kabir special patrol. 

In a statement signed by the Corps Public Education Officer, Osondu Ohaeri, the special operations which started from 25th will end on 31st May, 2026.

The special patrol will place particular focus on excessive speed, dangerous driving, wrongful overtaking, overloading, lane indiscipline, use of phones while driving, operation of mechanically deficient vehicles, driving with expired or worn-out tyres, passenger manifest violations, and other critical offences responsible for fatal road crashes across the country.
