 U.S equipment, experts arrive at Kenya Ebola facility despite court order, protests Around 20 flights carrying medical equipment and specialist staff have landed at a base in Kenya where the U.S. ​government is continuing to build an Ebola quarantine facility despite protests and Kenyan court orders blocking it, according to flight data and officials. At least two ‌people have been killed in protests in the central Kenyan town of Nanyuki, home to the Kenyan air force base where the U.S. military is building a 50-bed unit for Americans who might be exposed to the virus, which has infected hundreds in Democratic Republic of Congo and Uganda. A Kenyan court first ordered work on the Ebola facility to be suspended on May ​28, yet U.S. military flights into Nanyuki continued in the days that followed, according to data from flight-tracking service Flightradar24. The planes have brought in technical ​equipment as well as dozens of physicians, engineers, lab experts and construction work...

 FG SEEKS DEEPER TIES WITH ISRAEL IN MANY AREAS


The Federal Government has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening bilateral relations with Israel in agriculture, security, education, healthcare and technology as part of efforts to drive Nigeria’s socio-economic development.


Receiving the Israeli Ambassador to Nigeria, Michael Freeman, in Abuja, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Senator George Akume, says Nigeria possesses vast agricultural resources, a large population and enormous economic potential that can be further unlocked through strategic partnerships and investment. He also commends Israel’s achievements in agriculture, healthcare, education and technology, describing the country as a model of resilience and innovation.


Ambassador Freeman expresses Israeli’s readiness to collaborate with Nigeria in boosting food production through advanced agricultural technologies and capacity development. He also highlighted opportunities for cooperation in security, including counterterrorism, cybersecurity, border security and training, noting that both countries face similar security challenges requiring coordinated responses.
