HIGH COURT CONFIRMS LIAM PAYNE £21M ESTATE ARRANGEMENTS FOR SON BEAR, INHERITANCE STRUCTURE SET. (PHOTO).

High Court confirms Liam Payne £21m estate arrangements for son Bear, inheritance structure set

Court proceedings have confirmed how Liam Payne’s estate will be handled, with his nine year old son, Bear Gray Payne, set to receive the assets.

Documents from the High Court show the estate, valued at just over £21 million, can now be used in part for Bear’s immediate benefit. The remainder will be held in trust until he turns 18.

Payne, 31, died in October 2024 after falling from a hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He did not leave a will.

Following his death, Cheryl Tweedy and music industry lawyer Richard Bray were appointed as administrators of the estate through a grant of probate issued in Newcastle. Their initial role was limited to collecting and preserving assets.

The updated arrangement, granted through Letters of Administration, expands how the estate can be managed, including limited access to funds for the child’s upkeep before he reaches adulthood.

The estate includes assets such as a five bedroom property in Chalfont St Giles, Buckinghamshire, purchased in 2021.

Court records confirm Bear is the sole beneficiary.

Separate legal proceedings in Argentina followed Payne’s death, involving multiple individuals who were initially charged in relation to the circumstances of the incident. Some of those charges were later withdrawn, while other drug related cases remain part of ongoing court files.

Payne’s partner at the time of his death, Kate Cassidy, has not made a claim against the estate and is reported not to intend to pursue one. Under intestacy rules, she could have been eligible to apply within the standard probate timeframe.

Cassidy has previously commented publicly on her relationship with Payne, rejecting suggestions that she had financial arrangements tied to him and saying her personal life with him was known only to the two of them.
