 Stephen Baldwin claims he was fired from rom-com for being 'funnier' than Jennifer Aniston Stephen Baldwin recently revealed that he was originally cast in the 1998 romantic comedy The Object of My Affection but was dismissed early in production. On his podcast One Bad Movie, Baldwin explained he had been chosen to play Vince McBride, the boyfriend of Jennifer Aniston’s character Nina Borowski.  However, after just two days on set, a producer told him there was a “problem”  specifically, that he was “funnier than Jennifer,” which they felt undermined the film’s dynamic. Baldwin described the criticism as both shocking and humiliating, likening it to being “mauled in the face by a wolverine.” He said he tried to tone down his comedic delivery but was ultimately cut from the project and told to go home.  The role eventually went to actor John Pankow, while Aniston starred opposite Paul Rudd, who played her gay roommate George.  IGP DISU CHARGES INVESTIGATORS TO PRIORITIZE DATA-DRIVEN POLICING, STRENGTHEN CRIME DATABASE MANAGEMENT


The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, has charged investigators and heads of investigative units across the country to prioritise the accurate capture and management of suspects’ information as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen intelligence-led policing and modernise criminal investigations within the Nigeria Police Force.


The IGP gave the charge during the opening of the One-Day Crime and Incident Database Impact Sensitization Workshop organised by the Department of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at the Force Headquarters, Abuja today,10th June,2026. The workshop was convened to sensitise participants on the importance of the Suspects’ Information Capturing Process under the Nigeria Police Force Crime and Incident Database (NPF-ICD) Centre Project, a strategic initiative designed to enhance crime analysis, intelligence gathering, evidence-based investigations, inter-agency collaboration, and proactive crime prevention.


Speaking at the event, the Inspector-General noted that modern policing is increasingly driven by timely, accurate, and actionable data, stressing that effective law enforcement can no longer rely solely on conventional investigative methods. He emphasised that the Crime and Incident Database Centre represents a critical national policing asset capable of improving investigative outcomes, tracking criminal trends, identifying repeat offenders, linking crimes across jurisdictions, and supporting informed operational and strategic decision-making.


Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to the modernisation of policing through technology, innovation, and intelligence-led strategies, IGP Disu called for greater compliance with established suspects’ information capturing procedures across all Commands and Formations. He encouraged participants to actively engage in the workshop and develop practical solutions that will enhance operational efficiency and strengthen the Force’s crime management architecture.


The Nigeria Police Force remains committed to leveraging technology, innovation, and intelligence-led policing to improve service delivery, strengthen public safety, and build a more professional, accountable, and citizen-focused Police Force.
