Candida auris fungus continues spreading in U.S healthcare facilities as cases rise and resistance grows A drug-resistant fungus that can survive for months on skin and healthcare surfaces is continuing to spread in hospitals and long-term care facilities across the United States, increasing concerns about early detection and infection control. Candida auris, recently renamed scientifically as Candidozyma auris, is a type of yeast first identified in the U.S. in 2016. Reported cases have increased significantly in recent years, with thousands of clinical infections documented nationwide and the fungus appearing in new regions. While the rise in cases does not pose a major threat to most healthy people, the infection can be dangerous for patients who are already seriously ill, have weakened immune systems, or require extended medical care.  ‎Insecurity: House Leadership Agrees With Minority Caucus Calls For Greater Synergy on Security, Cautions Against Being Partisan

‎The leadership of the House of Representatives has responded to concerns raised by the Minority Caucus over the nation's security situation, stressing that addressing Nigeria's security challenges requires institutional cooperation and sustained collaboration.

‎House Spokesman Akin Rotimi in a statement, notes that the concerns of the Minority Caucus reflected the anxieties of many Nigerians but emphasizes that security should not be viewed through partisan lenses, as national safety remains a collective responsibility.

‎The House further notes that the Minority Caucus is an integral part of the legislative arm of government and shares in the obligation to develop solutions, strengthen institutions, and support effective implementation of security policies.

‎The leadership of the House of Representatives reiterates its commitment to working closely with the Executive, security institutions, state governments, and other partners to strengthen security nationwide and build on the successes being recorded in some ongoing military operations.
