Jerry Hall, 69, calls out 'terrible' ageism in fashion and reveals why she hasn't undergone 'scary' plastic surgery

Jerry Hall, who turns 70 on July 2, has spoken out against the idea that women must dress “age-appropriately.” In a new British Vogue interview, the actress and model said she enjoys wearing clothes that flatter her figure and refuses to be limited by outdated expectations.

Hall criticized the fashion options marketed to older women as “grey and beige and dull,” and rejected the notion that women should cut their hair short or go gray as they age. “We should stand up for our rights to be old and look good,” she declared.

Hall also emphasized her commitment to natural beauty, revealing she has never had Botox or fillers.

She said she embraces her wrinkles as part of aging gracefully, joking that she doesn’t want to “scare” her grandchildren by trying to look decades younger.

While acknowledging that some celebrities undergo plastic surgery for their careers, she argued the results often look unnatural, pointing to recent examples from Hollywood award shows. For Hall, the goal is not to look 50, but to look like “a good 70.”

Reflecting on her role as a grandmother, Hall said she loves babysitting and cherishes family life, though she doesn’t feel her age. She contrasted her own experience with that of her grandmother, who embodied a more traditional image of aging.

Hall’s daughters, Elizabeth and Georgia May Jagger, are also mothers, and the family recently appeared together in a Burberry campaign.

Her comments echo sentiments she expressed years earlier, when she criticized society’s obsession with youth and insisted that aging should be respected rather than hidden.
