 U.S Finalizes $20,000 Visa Bond Policy Affecting Nigeria and 49 Other Nations The United States government has officially formalized its visa bond policy, making it a permanent measure that could require travelers from 50 designated countries, including Nigeria, to pay a refundable bond of up to $20,000 before receiving certain visas. First introduced as a pilot scheme in 2025, the policy targets applicants seeking B1 and B2 visas, which are designated for business and tourism. According to the U.S. Department of State, the initiative is designed to bolster compliance with local immigration laws and drastically reduce visa overstay rates.  NSIB RECOVERS BLACK BOXES IN DELTA AIRCRAFT ROADWAY LANDING PROBE


The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau, NSIB, says it has recovered both the Cockpit Voice Recorder CVT and Flight Data Recorder FDR from the Bombardier Challenger aircraft, operated by VMO Aero Limited.


According to the The Bureau  the black boxes have now been secured for detailed analysis. Investigators are also collecting operational, maintenance, and air traffic control records.


NSIB Director General, Captain Alex Badeh  emphasised that the  recovery of the recorders is critical to establishing the facts of the incident. He reaffirmed the Bureau’s commitment to advancing aviation safety in Nigeria.


The Bureau appeals to the public with photos, videos, CCTV footage, or eyewitness accounts to send information to them 


It could be recalled that the private aircraft landed on a roadway near Asaba, Delta State, on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, while on a flight from Lagos to Asaba. The aircraft later departed the roadway with no  fatalities or serious injuries.
