 Flu outbreak hits Air Force basic training in Texas after vaccine mandate lifted, with 159 cases reported among recruits    A flu outbreak is affecting Air Force basic training in San Antonio, Texas, with at least 159 confirmed cases and two hospitalizations reported among recruits as health officials respond to a cluster of infections at Joint Base San Antonio. The outbreak developed over the past several weeks and has prompted medical staff to isolate symptomatic trainees, treat cases, and monitor those who were in close contact with infected individuals. Officials said additional cases and hospitalizations are still being assessed. An Air Force spokesperson confirmed the situation, describing it as a localized influenza outbreak within the basic military training program.  NSIB RECOVERS BLACK BOXES IN DELTA AIRCRAFT ROADWAY LANDING PROBE


The Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau, NSIB, says it has recovered both the Cockpit Voice Recorder CVT and Flight Data Recorder FDR from the Bombardier Challenger aircraft, operated by VMO Aero Limited.


According to the The Bureau  the black boxes have now been secured for detailed analysis. Investigators are also collecting operational, maintenance, and air traffic control records.


NSIB Director General, Captain Alex Badeh  emphasised that the  recovery of the recorders is critical to establishing the facts of the incident. He reaffirmed the Bureau’s commitment to advancing aviation safety in Nigeria.


The Bureau appeals to the public with photos, videos, CCTV footage, or eyewitness accounts to send information to them 


It could be recalled that the private aircraft landed on a roadway near Asaba, Delta State, on Wednesday, June 10, 2026, while on a flight from Lagos to Asaba. The aircraft later departed the roadway with no  fatalities or serious injuries.
