Yemen fighting pushes nearly 3,000 to Djibouti in less than a week: UN    Nearly 3,000 people have fled Yemen for Djibouti in less than a week as escalating violence drives growing displacement within the country and across its borders, the UN refugee agency said Friday. “Refugees continue to arrive by boat through Obock, Khor Angar, Moulhoule and Godoria after difficult journeys in small vessels,” UNHCR representative in Djibouti Sandrine Desamours told reporters in Geneva, Anadolu Agency reported. More than half of those crossing the Bab el-Mandeb Strait are women and children, while some families have been displaced for a second time after previously fleeing Yemen during the 2015 crisis and later returning. UNHCR is preparing for at least 10,000 new arrivals but warned that capacity is rapidly diminishing.  PRESIDENT TINUBU MOURNS EMIR OF NGAZARGAMU, AHMAD TIJJANI IBN SALEH

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the death of His Royal Highness, Ahmad Tijjani Ibn Saleh, the Emir of Ngazargamu in Yobe State.


In a statement issued by the President's Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu describes the late monarch as a father, mentor, and respected custodian of tradition whose life was dedicated to the service of his people and humanity.


According to reports from the Ngazargamu Emirate Council, the Emir passed away on Tuesday in Cairo, Egypt, following a prolonged illness.


President Tinubu says the late royal father embodied wisdom, humility, courage, and an unwavering commitment to the welfare of his subjects.


He notes that the Emir's fatherly guidance and exemplary leadership would continue to inspire the people of Ngazargamu, Yobe State, and the nation at large.


The President extends his heartfelt condolences to the Ngazargamu Emirate Council, the royal family, the Government and people of Yobe State, as well as all subjects of the Emirate.


President Tinubu prays Almighty Allah to forgive the late Emir's shortcomings, accept his good deeds, grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus, and give his family and the entire Emirate the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
