  TikToker undergoes traditional cleansing after filming Oloolu masquerade procession A yet-to-be-identifed female TikTok user narrowly escaped death after allegedly recording a procession linked to the annual Oloolu Masquerade Festival in Ibadan, Oyo State. The incident, which has gone viral on social media, sparked widespread debate after videos showed the woman undergoing traditional cleansing rites at the Oloolu compound. Speaking with newsmen on Monday, Chief Adeola Oloko, the spokesperson of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, said the woman did not record the sacred Oloolu masquerade itself but filmed Alawo Oloolu, a figure associated with the Oloolu tradition. He said the traditional custodians confirmed that the woman captured the procession while it was moving through the Ibadan axis. “She did not capture Oloolu; she mistook it for Alawo.  PRESIDENT TINUBU MOURNS EMIR OF NGAZARGAMU, AHMAD TIJJANI IBN SALEH

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the death of His Royal Highness, Ahmad Tijjani Ibn Saleh, the Emir of Ngazargamu in Yobe State.


In a statement issued by the President's Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, President Tinubu describes the late monarch as a father, mentor, and respected custodian of tradition whose life was dedicated to the service of his people and humanity.


According to reports from the Ngazargamu Emirate Council, the Emir passed away on Tuesday in Cairo, Egypt, following a prolonged illness.


President Tinubu says the late royal father embodied wisdom, humility, courage, and an unwavering commitment to the welfare of his subjects.


He notes that the Emir's fatherly guidance and exemplary leadership would continue to inspire the people of Ngazargamu, Yobe State, and the nation at large.


The President extends his heartfelt condolences to the Ngazargamu Emirate Council, the royal family, the Government and people of Yobe State, as well as all subjects of the Emirate.


President Tinubu prays Almighty Allah to forgive the late Emir's shortcomings, accept his good deeds, grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus, and give his family and the entire Emirate the strength to bear the irreparable loss.
