Reese Witherspoon balances career projects and relationship with Oliver Haarmann
Reese Witherspoon is moving through a busy stretch of work and personal commitments, according to a source close to the actress.
The 50-year-old Morning Show star is currently involved in promoting Elle, a Legally Blonde prequel series that follows her original character’s high school years. The project also includes her work behind the scenes, including involvement in casting and production decisions.
“She loves the kind of focus that comes with having a lot going on,” the source told PEOPLE. “She really enjoyed working behind the scenes on the show, including the casting process, and feels proud to be bringing something she cares so much about to a new audience.”
Alongside her professional schedule, Witherspoon has been spending time with German financier Oliver Haarmann, whom she has been linked to since 2024. The pair recently made their first public appearance together at the Elle premiere in New York City on June 23.
The source said Witherspoon continues to keep Nashville as her main home base while making regular trips to New York. “She still loves her life in Nashville,” the insider said, adding that she has been travelling between the two cities.
Her relationship with Haarmann, 58, has also become part of her routine. “She likes that he's outside of the entertainment world.
He's very driven in his own career and that really works for Reese, who loves being busy and focused,” the source said. “They have a lot of fun together and things between them are going really well.”
The couple were first linked in July 2024 after being seen having dinner in New York City. Since then, they have been spotted together on several occasions, though they have generally kept their relationship private.
A source previously described the relationship as “very special,” noting that Haarmann is not involved in the entertainment industry and prefers to stay out of the public spotlight.
Following their appearance at the Elle premiere, where they coordinated in pink outfits, another insider said the relationship remains steady. “Reese and Oliver are very private, they don't do PDA and both agree they don't want the world in their personal lives,” the source said.
