Flu outbreak hits Air Force basic training in Texas after vaccine mandate lifted, with 159 cases reported among recruits    A flu outbreak is affecting Air Force basic training in San Antonio, Texas, with at least 159 confirmed cases and two hospitalizations reported among recruits as health officials respond to a cluster of infections at Joint Base San Antonio. The outbreak developed over the past several weeks and has prompted medical staff to isolate symptomatic trainees, treat cases, and monitor those who were in close contact with infected individuals. Officials said additional cases and hospitalizations are still being assessed. SHIA LABEOUF PLEADS GUILTY IN MARDI GRAS BAR ALTERCATION, SENTENCED TO PROBATION AND TRAINING PROGRAMS. (PHOTO).

Shia LaBeouf pleads guilty in Mardi Gras bar altercation, sentenced to probation and training programs

Actor Shia LaBeouf has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor simple battery charge stemming from an altercation at a New Orleans bar during Mardi Gras earlier this year and has been sentenced to probation along with court-ordered training programs.

The 39-year-old actor received a six-month suspended sentence and will serve two years of active probation. As part of the terms of his sentence, he must complete anger management and sensitivity training.

The case arose from an incident at R Bar on Royal Street during Mardi Gras celebrations. Authorities alleged LaBeouf became involved in a disturbance, during which he was combative with staff members and patrons and struck multiple people.

Investigators said one victim suffered a serious nose injury after being struck in the face. Police also alleged that LaBeouf used homophobic slurs during the incident, allegations that the actor later denied.

Following his arrest, LaBeouf posted a $100,000 bond and was released under several conditions, including participation in rehabilitation treatment, regular drug and alcohol testing, and orders prohibiting contact with the alleged victims and the bar.

The guilty plea resolves the misdemeanor battery charges filed in the case.

An attorney representing one of the victims praised the handling of the matter by prosecutors and the court, saying the case demonstrated that all individuals should be treated equally regardless of their public profile or level of fame. The attorney also expressed hope that LaBeouf would take the required substance abuse treatment, sensitivity training and anger management courses seriously and use what he learns moving forward.
