 Flu outbreak hits Air Force basic training in Texas after vaccine mandate lifted, with 159 cases reported among recruits    A flu outbreak is affecting Air Force basic training in San Antonio, Texas, with at least 159 confirmed cases and two hospitalizations reported among recruits as health officials respond to a cluster of infections at Joint Base San Antonio. The outbreak developed over the past several weeks and has prompted medical staff to isolate symptomatic trainees, treat cases, and monitor those who were in close contact with infected individuals. Officials said additional cases and hospitalizations are still being assessed. An Air Force spokesperson confirmed the situation, describing it as a localized influenza outbreak within the basic military training program.  TROOPS RECOVER ARMS AND MOTORCYCLES IN SWIFT RAID OPERATION


In an effort to rid Delta State from criminal elements, troops of Headquarters 63 Brigade/Sector 1 Joint Task Force, South South Operation DELTA SAFE recovered  seven rifles and two motorcycles during a raid operation at Ibusa in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State. 


The operation was conducted on 4 June 2026, while acting on credible intelligence. The arms and motorcycles were discovered in an abandoned police station within Ibusa community.


The Commander, 63 Brigade, Brigadier General Moronfolu Abdulmoshood Shonibare, commended the troops for their resilience and professionalism. He charged them to sustain the current operational tempo and maintain relentless pressure on criminal elements.


Therefore, he reiterated on the formation’s unwavering commitment to denying criminals freedom of action in the area and warned individuals and groups harbouring arms or engaging in criminal activities will  face the full wrath of the law.
