 U.N chief Guterres calls for countries fueling Sudan's war to be held accountable United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres called on Wednesday for countries providing weapons to the warring parties in Sudan that are used to attack civilians to be held accountable. "What is happening in Sudan is absolutely horrible. The humanitarian situation in Sudan is devastating. The level of suffering of the Sudanese people is intolerable," Guterres told reporters ahead of the annual gathering of world leaders at the United Nations in New York next week. Sudan's war, which erupted in April 2023 following a power struggle between the military and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces, has displaced more than 14 million people and created one of the world's worst humanitarian crises.  Yobe State Governor  Buni Cuts Down Tractor Hiring Fees To Farmers By 50%


Yobe  state Governor Mai Mala Buni has to reduce the cost of hiring tractors by fifty per cent from N100,000 to N50,000.


The Acting Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Dr Mohammed Goje, who disclosed the development, described it as part of the administration's commitment to easing the burden on farmers and promoting increased agricultural production.


He said the 50 per cent reduction in tractor hiring fees would enable more farmers to access mechanised farming services, cultivate larger expanses of land and improve productivity during the current farming season.


According to him, the intervention is expected to lower the cost of cultivation, enhance food production and contribute significantly to food security in the state.
