 TEAM LAGOS EMERGES TOP AT 23RD NATIONAL SPORTS FESTIVAL SOUTH WEST ELIMINATION Lagos State athletes proved their dominance in the South West by edging out regional competitors and emerging top in the five team events contested at the elimination series qualifier for the 23rd National Sports Festival later this year in Enugu. The elimination series featured team events in volleyball, basketball, football, beach volleyball, and cricket in male and female categories. While the team clinched only the female football ticket by topping their group, they showed dominance in three other sports by winning both the male and female tickets. Team Lagos took first position in the volleyball male and female categories. The male team defeated their counterparts from Ondo in the finals by 25-18, 24-26, 25-20, and 25-20, while the female team defeated Team Oyo by 25-18, 22-25, 28-26, 16-25, and 15-8. 28 INJURED AFTER MARYLAND TRANSIT BUS CRASHES INTO BUILDING, MULTIPLE VEHICLES INVOLVED.(PHOTO).

 28 injured after Maryland transit bus crashes into building, multiple vehicles involved

 Twenty-eight people were injured Wednesday after a public transit bus crashed into a building in Pikesville, Maryland, in a multi-vehicle accident that also involved seven other vehicles, officials said.

The crash occurred in the Baltimore suburb just northwest of the city. Authorities said one of the vehicles involved overturned during the collision, and two people were temporarily trapped — one inside the bus and another in a separate vehicle. One person was reported to be in critical condition, while the remaining injuries were less severe.

Emergency crews responded to the scene and worked to rescue those trapped and treat the injured.

Maryland Gov. Wes Moore said he is closely monitoring the situation and praised first responders for their quick response.

"We are deeply grateful for our first responders who acted with speed and skill to ensure the safety of our neighbors," Moore said, adding that state officials are coordinating with local authorities and stand ready to provide any needed assistance.
