Terrifying new dashcam footage shows moment doomed NBC helicopter falls out of the sky The terrifying moment an NBC helicopter fell out of the sky and plunged into the ground near where an SUV had slammed into a Metro bus was caught on dashcam. The video, obtained by KTLA, shows the helicopter descending, caught from afar on the vehicle camera of Yera Valencia. She said: “I downloaded the video of my dashcam. It’s a little dot on the video. It’s a crisp video and it just goes down.” She added: “God, it’s so close, it could have happened to anyone. My parents walk down the street.” The two back-to-back Tuesday night crashes resulted in five deaths — two involving the bus and SUV, and three as a result of the chopper going down, killing reporter Eliana Moreno, pilot George Marciniw and pedestrian Edy Gutierrez Mejia.

The Awka Capital Territory Development Authority (ACTDA) has reaffirmed that its development control mandate covers 23 towns across six Local Government Areas within the Awka Capital Territory, extending beyond the Awka metropolis.

The Head of Development Control, ACTDA, TPL Charles Ekwunife, stated this in a statement on July 8, stressing that the Authority was committed to promoting orderly physical development, environmental sustainability and compliance with approved planning standards across its areas of jurisdiction.

He said the covered communities include Adazi-Nnukwu, Agulu and Nri in Anaocha Local Government Area; Amansea, Mgbakwu, Isuaniocha and Urum in Awka North; as well as Awka, Amawbia, Mbaukwu, Isiagu, Nibo, Nise, Okpuno and Umuawulu in Awka South.

Other communities listed are Nawgu and Ukpo in Dunukofia Local Government Area; Enugwu-Agidi, Enugwu-Ukwu, Nimo, Nawfia and parts of Abagana in Njikoka, alongside Awgbu in Orumba North Local Government Area.

Ekwunife noted that ACTDA’s responsibilities remained the same across all communities within the Awka Capital Territory, urging residents and developers to comply with physical planning regulations.

“Wherever residents live within the Awka Capital Territory, the Authority remains committed to promoting safe, planned and sustainable development,” he said.

He called on property owners and developers to obtain the required approvals from ACTDA before commencing construction or other development activities.

“Compliance will help us build a cleaner, safer and more organised capital territory,” he added.
