 ‎‎NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION ‎ The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges.  ‎ ‎A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters  and two H-125 helicopters. ‎ The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. ‎ ‎The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, described the acquisition as another significant milestone in the Federal Government’s sustained investment in the modernization and re-equipment of the NAF noting that the new pl...

CLAMPDOWN ON UNREGISTERED VEHICLES YIELDS RESULT AS POLICE INTERCEPT SUSPECT, RECOVER STOLEN JIA CHENG BIKE IN BAUCHI METROPOLIS


Operatives of the Bauchi State Police Command have intercepted a suspect and recovered a stolen motorcycle during a routine patrol in Bauchi metropolis.


The successful clampdown on crimes against property took place on 4th July, 2026 at about 1200hrs, when Hafiz Ahmad ‘m’, 28-years-old year-old, of Karofin Madaki was intercepted by the police operatives attached to 'E' Division Yelwa around Yelwan Kagadama while riding an unregistered Jiacheng ladies motorcycle, black in colour, valued at ₦450, 000.


Upon interrogation, the suspect confessed to having stolen the motorcycle from Unguwar Kusu in the Yelwa area of Bauchi.  


Subsequently, a diligent investigation led operatives to the rightful owner, Mr. Mohammed (surname withheld) 23-years-old, residing at Federal Low-Cost Housing Estate. After presenting relevant documents as proof of ownership, the recovered motorcycle was handed over to him.


Furthermore, the suspect will be charged to court upon conclusion of preliminary investigation.


The Commissioner of Police, Bauchi State Command, CP Sani-Omolori Aliyu, mni, psc (+), has commended the operatives for their vigilance and swift action. He further urged members of the public to always ensure proper documentation of their vehicles and to report any suspicious movement to the nearest police station.
