FOUR ENVIRONMENTAL OFFENDERS WERE APPREHENDED AND TAKEN TO THE LAGESC HEADQUARTERS, OSHODI, FOR INVESTIGATION AND PROSECUTION.(PHOTO). #PRESS RELEASE

 The LAWMA, through its Waste Investigation, Surveillance and Enforcement (WISE) Team, intensifies its enforcement operations across Lagos State.


On 4 July 2026, four environmental offenders were apprehended and taken to the LAGESC Headquarters, Oshodi, for investigation and prosecution.


Those arrested include Amisu Abdullah and Jabiru Maji, apprehended on Gbagada Expressway for operating as illegally collecting waste in a cart; Lawal Yusuf, arrested at Anthony Oke (by Newcastle) for the same offence; and Hassan Adamu, also arrested at Anthony Oke (by Newcastle) for acting as an illegal dump site toll collector.


LAWMA remains committed to eliminating illegal waste collection and indiscriminate waste disposal. Anyone found engaging in activities that undermine the state’s environmental sanitation efforts will be arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
