 KADGIS To Introduce Land Agents Registration To Tackle Property Fraud The Kaduna State Geographic Information Service (KADGIS) has announced plans to introduce a registration system for land agents as part of efforts to improve accountability and reduce property-related fraud in the state. The Director-General of KADGIS, Dr Bashir Ibrahim, disclosed this on Wednesday in Kaduna during a town hall meeting on the 2026 Land Administration Reforms. Ibrahim explained that the proposed system would require every land agent operating in Kaduna State to obtain a unique and non-transferable agent code. According to him, the code would make it easier for KADGIS to identify the agents involved in land transactions and determine responsibility whenever disputes or fraudulent activities occur. “Every agent must obtain an agent code.  GOVERNOR ALIA ORDERS SECURITY AGENCIES TO HUNT DOWN PERPETRATORS OF OTUKPO ATTACK


The Benue State ‎ Governor, Hyacinth Alia has  condemned the early morning attacks by suspected armed herdsmen on Akpachi Village and the Otukpo-Nobi community in Otukpo Local Government Area describing it as not only a breach of peace, but also a barbaric and inhuman assault on the sanctity of life and the collective soul of the people of Benue State.

In a statement by the Chief Press Secretary Tersoo Kula the ‎suspected armed herdsmen reportedly invaded Akpachi Village between 3:00 a.m. and 4:00 a.m. while residents were asleep killing scores of people, while many others sustained varying degrees of injuries.

‎The Governor said he is particularly pained that the attacks occurred at a time when the state government was working closely with traditional rulers and security agencies to foster lasting peace and harmony. 

‎Governor Alia therefore directed the security agencies in the state to intensify surveillance and patrols across the affected communities and border areas to arrest and prosecute perpetrators of the heinous act 

‎While sympathising with the bereaved families and praying for the speedy recovery of the injured, Governor Alia reassured all Benue citizens that his administration remains  committed to safeguarding lives and property.
