 ‎‎NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION ‎ The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges.  ‎ ‎A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters  and two H-125 helicopters. ‎ The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. ‎ ‎The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, described the acquisition as another significant milestone in the Federal Government’s sustained investment in the modernization and re-equipment of the NAF noting that the new pl...

 Gov. Uba Sani Approves Key Appointments To Strengthen Governance In Kaduna


Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani (CON), has approved a fresh round of strategic appointments aimed at strengthening governance, improving service delivery, and advancing his administration's development agenda.


According to a statement issued by the Governor's Chief Press Secretary, Ibraheem Musa, the appointments are part of the administration's ongoing efforts to inject fresh energy into public service and enhance institutional effectiveness across the state.


Among the key appointments, Hon. Audu Maikori was named Chief Strategic Adviser on Inter-Governmental Affairs, while Umar Uba Maicitta was appointed Senior Special Assistant on Community Relations. Aminu Mohammed Gusau was also appointed Senior Special Assistant on Policy Communications.


Governor Sani also approved the constitution of governing boards for several state institutions and agencies.


For the Kaduna State University Governing Council, Dr. Ibrahim Umar was appointed Pro-Chancellor and Chairman. Other members include Dr. Ibrahim Hamidu (Zone 1), Malam Adamu Aliyu Shika (Zone 2), Mrs. Ladi Barnabas Bala Bantex (Zone 3), and Alhaji Adamu Attah, representing the organised private sector.


The Kaduna Mining Development Company Management Board will be chaired by Lawal Umar Meyere, with Hon. Addau Ahmed (Zone 1), Hon. Kabiru Tsoho Yakawada (Zone 2), and Yohanna Allah Magani Christopher (Zone 3) serving as members.


For the Kaduna State Schools Quality Assurance Authority Management Board, Tanko Kokwain was appointed Chairman. Other members are Thomas Samuel Amale (Zone 1), Esther Ayuba Anthony (Zone 2), and Mustapha Ahmed (Zone 3).


The Kaduna State Livestock Regulatory Agency Board will be headed by David Umar Gurara, alongside Bello Nuhu Yakubu (Zone 1), Hon. Hassan Adamu Shekarau (Zone 2), and Mrs. Hannatu Sambo (Zone 3).


Similarly, Yakubu El Saad Lere was appointed Chairman of the Kaduna State Media Corporation (KSMC) Board. Other members include Zubairu Balarabe Saminu (Zone 1), Binta Saidu (Zone 2), and Habila Abel Adamu (Zone 3).


The governor described the appointees as seasoned professionals and accomplished leaders selected on the basis of their competence, experience, and commitment to the socio-economic development of Kaduna State.


While congratulating them, Governor Sani urged the new appointees to regard their appointments as a call to service. He charged them to discharge their responsibilities with diligence, transparency, and integrity to ensure the effective delivery of democratic dividends to the people of the state.
