 ‎‎NAF RECEIVES FIVE NEW HELICOPTERS AS FG ACCELERATES AIRPOWER MODERNISATION ‎ The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has taken delivery of five new helicopters as the Federal Government accelerates efforts to modernize Nigeria’s airpower capabilities and strengthen the Armed Forces’ capacity to respond effectively to contemporary security challenges.  ‎ ‎A statement by the Director of Public Relations and Information Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame indicates that the platforms comprise three AW-109 Trekker B helicopters  and two H-125 helicopters. ‎ The three AW-109s, which form part of 10 recently acquired by the Federal Government, were received in Lagos on 15 September 2026, with the remaining seven expected to be delivered before the end of 2026. ‎ ‎The Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, described the acquisition as another significant milestone in the Federal Government’s sustained investment in the modernization and re-equipment of the NAF noting that the new pl...

 Kaduna Govt Approves Construction Of 11 Township Roads In Zaria, Sabon Gari


The Kaduna State Executive Council has approved the construction of 11 new township roads across Zaria and Sabon Gari under Phase II of the state's urban renewal and rural transformation programme.


The approval was granted at the Council's meeting held on Tuesday, presided over by Governor Sen. Uba Sani.


The state government said the road projects are designed to improve transportation, enhance connectivity, stimulate economic activities, transform local communities, and create employment opportunities for residents.


To ensure timely execution and quality delivery, the projects have been awarded to two construction firms.


MOTHERCAT Limited will construct six roads: Babban Dodo–Durumi–Kofan Kuyanbana Road; Rimin Tsiwa–Kofan Gayan (Secretariat–Albarkawa–Kaura) Road; Maje Road; Turunku Road (Sabon Gari); Waff Road (Sabon Gari); and Layin Radio Road.


CGC Nigeria Limited will handle the remaining five roads: Aba Road (Tudun Wada); Turunku Road (Sabon Layi, Tudun Wada); Dadda'u Road (Layin M. Mamuda); Sheikh Umar Muazu Street; and Idris Majeh Street (Fillin Mallawa).


According to the government, the projects form part of the Uba Sani administration's ongoing investment in infrastructure to improve mobility, support local businesses, and drive socio-economic development across Zaria and Sabon Gari.
